Warner Music Selection

Throughout the years here at Warner University, the music selection during sporting events hasn’t always been the best music played to get players hyped before the game. It’s obvious that this is a Christian school and Mrs. Dunlap doesn’t want explicit language in songs but there are also different alternatives to solve the problem.

While conducting an interview with two student (William Bethel and Kyree Marshall) both of these students were able to give me their perspective and thoughts on Warner’s music selection. William Bethel stated, “I understand that this is a Christian school and they don’t allow certain music but at the same time you can play music without explicit language. He went on by saying, “Warner doesn’t allow teams to even play the instrumentals to songs but claim that they want students to have fun and support each other in events.”

The response that was given to me wasn’t very surprising because a lot of students on this campus feel the same way. When asking Kyree about his thoughts on the music selection he went on to say this, “The music that is being played during sporting events doesn’t really get people pumped up for games and nobody really listen to the songs being played.”

In the end there has to be a median that sport teams and Mrs. Dunlap can come to so that everyone gets what they want without overstepping boundaries. But it is very clear that the music selection during sporting events is unpleasing to the students who attend or participate in these events.
